eTITLE demonstrates a 50% speed improvement in subtitling, April 2006
eTITLE has completed an extensive validation study to determine exactly how much quicker eTITLE can produce subtitles over existing methods. Timings for processing programmes in eTITLE to a broadcast quality were compared against timings using traditional methods over a total of programmes. The results showed eTITLE consistently provides a 50% performance gain, cutting the time to produce subtitles in half. For subtitling into a foreign language, using state of the art translation systems eTITLE saved a further 17% of time compared with existing processes. Tony Stott, eTITLE's product development director commented, "I am extremely happy with the demonstrable performance benefits eTITLE yields. However, this is just the beginning of the possibilities with our technology and I am confident that this will increase significantly over the next 12 months."
