Work from anywhere

Assistive subtitling

eTITLE delivers dramatic performance improvements by cleverly structuring your workflow to benefit from recent advances in automatic linguistic processing.

The system includes the following features:

Script Synchronisation

eTITLE can automatically align a script with your footage, fixing each word in the script to the correct timecode in the video. The software recognises a wide variety of script formats and can comfortably handle discrepancies between the script and programme.

Assistive Translation & Text Reduction

eTITLE can automatically translate the dialogue list into a number of languages and keep the original timings. The translation system actually improves as you keep using it, building up a record of your previous translations. By indicating the desired word rate per minute, eTITLE will offer suggestions on ways to compress the dialogue to fit into the word rate.

Positioning Through Advanced Video Analysis

eTITLE optimally positions the dialogue into subtitles, breaking the subtitles to be easy on the eye and to meet the desired broadcast specifications. eTITLE will also pick out points within the programme which may conflict with the subtitle area, enabling the subtitler to move the subtitles to a safe area.

Export Into A Number of Formats

eTITLE can export into a range of subtitle formats, ready to play out directly or to take into your existing subtitle station to finalise. eTITLE is based on the ETL format, an XML based format containing the subtitle information for multiple languages, plus extra metadata such as scene boundaries, audio waveforms and the original script. The ETL file is now supported by the Starfish Technologies ISIS Station and can be easily ingested into a number of digital asset managements.

Collaborative Working Over the Web

eTITLE makes it easy to work with an editor in another city or a translator in another country. In fact the secure web-based interface allows you to work anywhere in the world without expensive hardware.

Open Standards

eTITLE's architecture is based on open standards including XML and SOAP allowing easy integration with legacy systems including subtitling, digital asset management and transmission systems.
